Nine 2024 Year-End Reflections and One 2025 Intention (2 Min Read)

“People don’t really learn when you tell them something. They don’t even really learn when they do something. They start learning, start creating new neural pathways, only when they have a chance to recall and reflect on what just happened.” ― Michael Bungay Stanier
Nine 2024 Year-End Reflections and One 2025 Intention
Our lives have three time zones – past, present, and future. Achievers tend to spend a lot of time acting in the present and some time planning for the future. Reflecting on the past can feel like a luxury we can’t afford. But it’s vital if we intend to grow, learn, and avoid blindly repeating past mistakes.
Well, 2024 is almost done. It’s time to look back and reflect on the year. I shared versions of these reflection questions in 2023 and 2022. Your assignment remains the same. Take an hour and answer them thoughtfully and apply your learnings to 2025.
Each year different questions speak to me. This year, it was question four. Who supports me & helps me grow? I’m fortunate to have a handful of people who lift me up when I’m down, push me when I’m stalled, and tell me what I need to hear (even when I don’t want to hear it.) Without them, I’m not sure how I would have navigated this past year.
This leads to an intention I’m setting for 2025. As much as I want to carry forward lessons from my past, it seems more important than ever to nurture my key relationships into the future. They say it takes a village. My intention for next year is to lean into mine and grow it with purpose.
One question to ponder in your thinking time: What is my intention for 2025?
